Finance
Local Council funds come from public money – most of this is through precepts. Local Councils are required to comply with “proper practices”, which have statutory force and are set out in Joint Panel on Annual Governance Practitioners’ Guide [2023]. The rules protect community assets and aim to make best use of public money.
Precept
The Parish Council raises a local tax (the precept) which is paid to us by Milton Keynes Council collected by your Council Tax. The precept is then spent within the Parish and all expenditure is approved by the Councillors, local residents elected by you every four years.
